About

KRISTINE COVILLO hails from Overland Park, KS.  She moved to NYC to pursue her BFA from Fordham University, where she also trained with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.  She graduated from Fordham with Honors.  Her senior year of college, she was offered a contract with Ballet Hispanico of NY.   After performing internationally with Ballet Hispanico for 3 years, she was offered a spot to join the world famous Radio City Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.  After 2 seasons at Radio City, she was bitten by the Broadway bug.  She joined the company of WEST SIDE STORY on Broadway during previews and performed with the company on opening night.  During her 2 years of performing with WSS, she had the honor of working with Arthur Laurents.  Other Broadway credits include EVITA (with Ricky Martin), ON THE TOWN, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, and CHICAGO.

 

Further stage credits include performing at THE PAPER MILL PLAYHOUSE, THE ST. LOUIS MUNY, THE KENNEDY CENTER, NY CITY CENTER, THE JOYCE THEATRE, THE CAPE PLAYHOUSE and the LA SCALA OPERA HOUSE, in Milan.

 

In addition to performing live on stage, Kristine has made numerous television appearances including a recurring spot in the 1st season of the hit NBC show SMASH and in the 7th Season of the Italian TV show AMICI di Maria de Filippi.   She has performed many times at the TONY AWARDS, including the 2011 and 2013 opening numbers with Neil Patrick Harris.  You may recognize her as the kind nurse in the national commercial, “Zero Room for Error” for SONOSITE.  She also had the pleasure of working with Academy Award Winning Director, Kathryn Bigelow in the HBO Pilot of THE MIRACULOUS YEAR.  On film, she appeared in Disney’s ENCHANTED, and the Independent feature film, LUSTRE.  

 

As an arts educator, Kristine has taught masterclasses at many prestigious institutions in NYC including BROADWAY DANCE CENTER, STEPS ON BROADWAY, NEW YORK UNIVERSITY and THE INSTITUTE FOR AMERICAN MUSICAL THEATER.

 

Kristine’s deep history and commitment to the arts has led her to serve on a number of Nonprofit Boards.  She has served on the National Board of Governors for The American Guild of Musical Artistis- the union representing dance companies and operas.  Other boards she serves on are Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre's board and The Irish Arts Center's board.  Additionally, she helps run the private charitable foundation: The Covillo Lynch Foundation.  She received her Master's degree in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University in 2020.  Kristine splits her time between Manhattan and the Hudson River Valley with her husband, Liam, and their 2 wonderful kids.
